Description
Hi there Up for consideration is this small Finland Puukko Knife made by the very well known Finland maker K. LAMMI from the town Kauhava.
You will find the makers name inside the Fuller of the blade- the Fuller is incorrectly described as a "Blood Groove", it reads 'K LAMMI KAUHAVA.
Lammi is extremely well known and his knives are of high quality, as you can see here with this smaller Puukko Knife and the Traditional Sheath are very nicely made.
The Wooden handle looks great with attractive packers and the patterned Brass Bolster /Ferrule and Cap are Brass and carry a gorgeous Patina.
The Finland Coat of Arms of the Lion holding a sword in it's right hand while standing on another Sword is either carved or pressed- more likely pressed into the Handle.
At 5 & 1/2 inches long with a Carbon Steel Blade under 2 & 3/4 inches long, this isn't quite a Sword :-), but it is one extremely well made and very attractive Knife, so too is the workmanship of the Sheath, beautifully decorated with a lot of time spent on it, also the retention of the knife as you would expect is superb, you probably will not get a finer sheath for retention.
Thank you for checking out this very fine Finland Puukko, check out my other auctions for High Quality Vintage Knives.
